Selectmen cut Heritage Commission budget to $1

NH HAMPTON FALLS — Hampton Falls Selectmen slash Heritage Commission budget from full request to just $1. The board, led by Chair M. Lane with Vice-Chair E.
Beattie and Selectman L. Gargiulo, directed the three-member Heritage Commission to fund 2026 operations from its $10,623 escrow account instead of requesting new appropriations. The board also approved a 3 percent Cost-of-Living Adjustment for all 2026 departmental budgets in a unanimous vote, cut Police Department overtime by $5,000, and implemented a $35,000 net reduction in the Executive budget.
Town budget growth since 2019 has risen from $2.6 million to $3.6 million in 2025, driven by escalating health insurance, benefits, and salary costs.
