NH HAMPTON FALLS — Hampton Falls selectmen trim budget, oppose state tax bill. The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to reduce the operating budget by $15,000 to $3,566,083 and sent opposition to HB 1474, which could cut the town's annual Meals & Rooms Tax revenue from approximately $240,000 to $120,000. Beattie expressed concerns with the state's SB2 governance system for municipal affairs. The selectmen also authorized Town Administrator Rachel D. Webb and Road Agent Russ Hilliard to explore applying for a $5,000 grant from NH The Beautiful for a storage container at the Brush Dump, with an application deadline of May 7.
